Professional Activities and Experience
Mr. Pawlisch served as Chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin's Energy and Telecommunications Section (2002-2003), and has been a continuing Board member of the Section since its creation in 1998. He is also a member of the Dane County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is an appointee to the Wisconsin Public Benefits Council advising the state’s Department of Administration concerning low income assistance and energy conservation programs. In 2002, he was appointed to the State Senate’s Telecommunications Taskforce.
On behalf of his clients, Mr. Pawlisch is one of the state’s foremost advocates for advancing the interest of competitive local phone companies at the Public Service Commission and at the State Capitol. On energy issues, he has played a leading role in drafting and lobbying for legislation to improve Wisconsin’s electric reliability. As an attorney for the Citizens’ Utility Board, Mr. Pawlisch has successfully championed the cause of electric ratepayers before the Public Service Commission. He has represented other energy clients before the Public Service Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. He has also successfully assisted two wind developers to obtain local government approvals for their projects.
